States Assemblies And Number Of Bill They Passed In 2 Years

In the two years from June 2011 to June 2012, the 202 state lawmakers in the North West passed 122 bills (Katsina State not included as details are not available) and collected N2.424 billion; while 176 legislators from South West received N2.112 billion and passed 107 bills into law (with the exception of those from Ekiti, whose records could not be obtained).

Tragic News: Kidnappers Kill Victim After Collecting N1.5million Ransom

A 43-year-old nurse, Bridget Osawaru, who was abducted on December 10, has been found dead, ostensibly killed by her abductors.
Bridget was abducted at her residence along Sapele road in Benin, Edo State.
Her abductors had collected N1.5m three days after her kidnap, but refused to release her until she was found dead.

If APC Was Politically Sharp They Would Have Rejected The G-7

A shrewd politician would have rejected the g7 governors.

If they betray goodluck, then ask to join you, and represent 7 states that are up for grabs in the coming election, you should consider this.

They betray GEJ, they're no longer in his graces. You reject them, they're not in your graces. They're stranded. Elections come up. As former governors, they're going to try to impose their candidate. GEJ, as their enemy, is going to try to impose his candidate. The PDP's power in all of those states are split in half.

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a result of President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambition may have claimed another casualty. “Declare Me As Anambra Governor-elect” – Obidigbo Tells Willy To Step Off

APGA, led by Chief Maxi Okwu, says it will not rest until Chike Obidigbo is declared as Anambra State governor-elect.

Okwu who spoke to journalists shortly after the party’s stakeholders’ meeting held in Enugu over the weekend, expressed confidence that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja would by February 2014, confirm him as the national chairman of APGA.

The Population Density Of Igbo Land

The entire Igbo land looks like a city from Google Earth.

There isn't an inch that isn't populated. The area below i photographed isn't a city. It isn't marked or labeled, meaning it's just a regular stretch of earth. Most of the cities and villages in Igboland have merged into one with barely a mile marking the beginning of one and ending of another!

Peter Obi Destroying Anambra With Religious Bigotry

A cross-session of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday staged a protest at the
Government House and Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, protesting the alleged change of list for the chairmanship election scheduled for January 11, 2014.

Why Anioma State Should Not See The Light Of The Day

All those people clamoring for anioman state, what geo political zone will anioma be grouped under, it is a fact the most anioman people are saying that they are not igbos and I don't see south east wanting anioma state as part of south east geo political zone...The south south already has 6 zones and it will not make sense to create anioma and then group them under south south....So the best bet is for anioma people to fight for polical relevance in delta state and forget about creation of anioma, cos I see it as just a mere dream that will never come to pass....Honestly I really pity for them, cos they seem most educated set of people in delta yet, they are being grossly marginalized...Soon Ijaw will have their own turn in governorship post.

Trying to force anioma state down the throats of igbos we create serious war and bad blood and Nigeria doesn't need this sort of thing right now....Any anioma in the house, what do you think about it. I believe I raised a salient point that should be looked into.

The Worst Govenors Of 2013

Despite the accolades the activities of most Nigerian governors remain a hype, the work of aggressive Public Relation stunt. A close look at the work of these shrewd shaddy politicians always reveal much more than meets the eyes. Behind the curtain is systematic looting and money laundering activities going on and everyone is involved. Despite the shameless corruption some of these governors have done relatively well or have been percieved to have done well. Today we are discussing those who haven’t done much or upto expectation, those who don’t even know why they are governor. We are looking at the first ten starting from 10 to number 1.

(10) Delta State Governor: Despite the huge revenue allocated to Delta State, Governor Oduaghan hasn’t been able to bring remarkable change to Delta State. When we hear what people like Governor Rotimi Ameachi have been able to achieve in Rivers State, his Delta State counterpart is not known for any serious infrastructural development. Oduaghan became governor like most governor. He was the cousin of the previous governor, James Ibori, who is now languishing in a London prison after he was found guilty of money laundery. Oduaghan’s government is characterised by sorrounding himself with friends and family members and making them rich to the detriment of the state. He has spent almost eight years as Delta State governor and we haven’t seen anything remarkable yet.

(9) TA Orji of Abia State is the worst governor in Igbo land for 2013. In Nigeria he came as number 9. The people haven’t seen anything like dividend of democracy and many Abia indegenous people have personally called to say he is the worst governor in Nigeria. NEWISSUES categorise him as number 9. His people expect much from him but in the end governance to some of these men in government is about personal business and wealth accumulation for themselves and their friends.

(cool Kebbi State Governor Dakingari is number 8 on the list. After talking to many people in Kebbi State, they seem to all agree that the man hasn’t done much. The good thing is that the man doesn’t talk too much.

(7) FCT Minister Bala Muhammad, is the number 7th on the list of the worst governor in 2013. Forget the title FCT Minister, we consider the 37th Governor of Nigeria. Bala Muhammad is going on record as the worst FCT Minister in the history of the FCT Admiistration in Nigeria. The FCT Minister is just doing anything but as those who know him say, accumulating wealth for his campaign for the 2015 Bauchi State Governor election. His posters and billboards are already all over the Bauchi State capital. He has been accused of land racketeering. The FCT administration is shamelessly corrupt and nobody cares. Bala Muhammad efforts at reforms in the transport area is the worst and ludicrous. It is obvious that all the FCT Minister cares about is generating revenue to the detriment of the people. Under his nose the FCT will demolish then later collaboarate with the natives to sell these plots again. The man simply lacks idea and Nigerians wonder why he hasn’t been replaced. We heard it is because he is a very good friend to Patience Jonathan, the First Lady.

(6) Lamaran Yero of Kaduna state. After Yakowa died his assistant became the governor of Kaduna State. Governor Yero has not been able to do anything since then. As a young man people expect dynamic leadership in a conflict State. Governor Yero hasn’t shown that he is a promising leader.

(5) Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State is number 5 worst governor on our list. Being an old man one would think the man would do something spectacular to leave a legacy for his people. Nyako did nothing. He has been busy throughout this year fighting the president. That is more important to him than his people.

(4) Gabriel Suswan of Benue State and Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State. These people have made it to number 4 of the worst governors in Nigeria. Suswan has not been able to pay salaries, even to primary school teachers. In the area of development, not much is on ground. Benue is still one of the poorest states in Nigeria in terms of infrastructures. Since 1999 Benue State has been lucky with governor and Gabriel Suswan is the worst of them all.
Isa Yuguda was once quoted as saying former governor Muazu has done everything, so there is no need to do anything. Muazu was overwhelmingly voted in the first term despite leaving the PDP to join the ANPP. He would have lost if not for the rioting in 2011 but after the CPC rioting he won. Isa Yuguda hasn’t done much and if in 2015 the PDP lost to APC it wouldn’t be because of Goodluck Jonathan hate in the North
The worst three governors in the Nigeria is coming soon.

More Govs. Set To Dump Amaechi

In 1880, Sunandha Kumariratana , the 19 years old Queen of Thailand drowned when her boat capsized on her way to Bang Pa-In Royal Palace.

The worrisome thing about her death is that she drowned while a couple of bodyguards and aides, most of them professional swimmers, stood by and watched. They couldn't save her. Why? Traditionally, they were forbidden to touch the queen. They didn't want to break the rules. It was better for her to die, than for them to break the laws.

Since Rotimi Amaechi became the Governor of Rivers State, through the opportunity given him by his political godfather, Dr Peter Odili, whom he has severed relationship with and even denied publicly, I've been trying to decipher who advises him. I'm beginning to suspect that nobody does . He doesn't have that DNA to use the brain or intelligence of others . He is too intelligent for that. His close associates knows this very well, so advising him seems forbidden. So, unknowingly he is isolated even amongst his supporters who cheer him on . Rumors of commissioners who were tongue lashed for disagreeing with him further helped in isolating him. He can't be helped. He knows it all. Any advise has to be in tune with his thoughts. Any contrary advise is sacrilegious .

Seriously, this mans political strategy confuses me. He seems like a man playing football without a goal post. So there is no place to even score no matter how well he plays. His target can't be seen. He picks fights at will and when he has boxed himself into a corner, he'd start playing victim. He'd tell you he drives himself and eats in public restaurants to show he is very popular and fearless , then the next moment he is crying that his security has been withdrawn even when the Rivers Police command has given the total number of police men attached to him. The last police officer we saw with him was his ADC, attempting to give someone the Aluu treatment .

Some people say he is strategizing to become Vice President in 2015, but that is not true. First of all, the man is not acting like someone who can be under another person. He lacks the ability to work with as a team player. He can't even pretend about it. He clearly can't work under anyone. He can challenge anyone to a wresting contest at the market square. Anybody who opposes him in Rivers State is trying to steal Rivers People's money.

On the other hand everyone knows that political permutations that will present a stronger challenge to Jonathan in 2015 should have an Igbo man in the team. So Rochas Okorocha, Ngige and Oby Ezekwesili stands as more suitable brides amongst the opposition . Amaechi knows this very well and understands that he is not an option .

Hear him " I have warned police not to arrest anybody who abuses me. I have mouth to abuse them back ". Yes sir, we know you have mouth. Every Nigerian knows you have mouth. Kai!, even women are jealous of your mouth. When candor gets extreme,It becomes carelessness. By the way, who told you the police needs your warning to stop arresting anybody . Jonathan receives same from mouths like yours daily and nobody is arrested. Fela said " You can't dash me human right ". As. Governor, you have so much time and energy to use your mouth in abusing any one that barks at you .

In trying to abuse Chibudom Nwuche, he said he will look for work after political office, accusing Chibudom of not looking for work and running around with politicians . I hope your ready to go back to Pamo Clinics as a hustler, bringing sick clients and collecting commission. That's the last job you had.

King Solomon once said " He who has no rule over his emotions, is like city without walls". Amaechi has confessed at times that he has been advised to be discrete in his public utterances, but he claims he can't help it when he comes out in . This is probably how he gets an Attention, because he says it makes him go home and sleep comfortably. He probably doesn't know or doesn't want to know the virtue associated with discretion as a characteristics of nobility . That's why I've come to wonder if the young man has a target or he is just having fun from the attention he is getting.

When he was in court after President Obasanjo took away the party ticket which he got through a consensus arrangement, he went to almost all the pastors in Rivers State. He repeated the visits after he became governor, sharing testimonies here and there .

On assumption of office, the arrogance manifested . At the Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Chruch of God at Aluu, he was invited by the General overseer , Pastor Enoch Adeboye to come and bring a word of greeting to the Christian faithfuls . As soon as he climbed the podium, he said " GO, I hope all these land you people acquired has papers. Because, I've instructed the commissioner of lands to reclaim all lands without documentation . That's the kind of drama he likes . A question he would have asked in private.

In one vein he is attending peace meeting with the President, in another vein he is on BBC pouring aspersion on the President . Tomorrow, he will say he needs to consult the President . The next day, he will call him a dictator or say he is not part of his transformation agenda.

Out of the shock of seeing less than twelve governors attending his NGF retreat in Sokoto, knowing that the press can't hide that one, no matter how much brown envelopes he spreads, he quickly used his mouth against Okonji Iweala . Accusing her of stealing 5 billion dollars . When the poor lady finds time to explain and told him how much he took from the amount, he checked his pocket, found the money in his pocket and starts another round of talks, how have you been spending our money, why didnt you apporove my loan. Bla bla bla according to my friend Emy Onunwor. Sorry ma, oops, sir . But madam Ngo is afraid of a woman's mouth. Sorry, a mans mouth.

Ask him how he spent the billions that came to his pocket, he will accuse you of wanting to steal Rivers People's money. He is the new messiah of Rivers State. The first and the last. Beginning and the end. For him, the sun must rise and set over his mouth.

During the Yardua succession imbroglio . There were strong rumors that Governors Amaechi and Sylva were against Jonathan . After the crises, Jonathan became President and announced Rivers State as the first state he will be visiting, in other to mend fences and quell the rumors. On the project inspection of a model Secondary at Eleme, Jonathan praised the governor and highly commended the school. Then he committed sacrilege by trying to advise the governor . The President said " But I'd advise that subsequent schools, the students can be made to stay like four in a room rather than two, because as a teacher, I'm know that it's important for students to also bond more after school hours as this will help their academics . Thank you so much Governor Amaechi for making us proud.

Nearly grabbing the microphone from the President, Governor Amaechi shot from the hips " Thank you Mr President, but we will not do that. The students can bond more when they are in their dining halls, class rooms or during games. For now this is our plans and we are not ready to change it. I watched the newly installed President turn red with embarrassment . How dare you advise Mr Know it all.

Of all the member of the G7, the new PDP and opposition members, nobody shows greater disdain for the President than Rotimi Amaechi . You can see him glowing with joy whenever he is disparaging the President . He loves the applauds that comes with it. For him, the squaring up makes him on equal terms with the President . After all, he is the Chairman of the governors forum, a position that led him into hallucinations of having massive powers.

In the early years of Jonathan Presidency, the Nigerian security forces were faced with a new kind of insecurity. The terrorist were always one step ahead of them. Our security architecture was not prepared for this kind of challenge and they struggled to catch up . Governor Amaechi in an interview stated that leaders can be impeached on grounds of insecurity in the land. He was subtly sending a message to the National Assembly that Jonathan can be sacrificed for peace to reign .

Ironically, it was the same Amaechi who openly challenged the President for declaring a state of emergency in some northern states . Even when governors of the states involved, the Northern governors forum, PDP governors forum, southern governors forum, south south and south east governors forum, all came out to endorse the moves. Governor amaechi released a statement, under the auspices of the Nigerian governors forum attacking the move.

In politics , it's a game of people and numbers . So politicians court people, make new friends and form alliances . In the case of Amaechi it's different . He is ready to fight anybody fight able . Anybody that disgaree with him wants to come and steal Rivers Peoples money. He enjoys this new status of an activist . He sounds like El Rufai, Dino Melaye and Lai Muhammed all bonded in one. The press love him. He has that natural gift to talk and he doesn't fail to put the gift into effective use. He is an interviewers delight.

The irony is that, I've studied and read the entire history of the Niger Delta struggle for emancipation, from Adaka Boro to Ken Saro wiwa, to the Kaiama declaration, yet I couldn't see a whimper from this modern day crusader . I also studied the fight against military rule, the struggle for the realization of June 12 mandate, but his name was missing . It's either he was invisible then or he hasn't understood how sweet his voice sounds.

Recently, he hosted the APC in the state and this much talked about ceremony was holed up inside the government house. This shows the level of political isolation the man has incurred on himself at home. When his supporters post pictures of the crowd that gathered, I wonder the kind of crowd that can fit into government house. But when he wants to employ teachers, he goes to the stadium .

My concern is the army of young vibrant politicians who are either tied to his structure or tied to someone who is tied to his structure. In Proverbs 2:11, King Solomon said " discretion will protect you...". The English dictionary defines discretion as the quality of behaving or speaking in such a manner that as to avoid the picking of offense or revealing information that is classified. Discretion is a virtue of any leader. When you lack it, you won't last long.

2015 Elections: Al-qaeda Doles Out $500 Million To Boko Haram

Al-Qaeda, the dreaded International Islamist terrorist group, recently doled out a whooping $500 Million, an equivalent of N80 Billion to Boko Haram for the purchase of arms and high caliber weapons to begin an orchestrated attack ahead of the 2015 general elections, pointblanknews.com has been reliably informed.

The $500 Million (N80 Billion), is specifically meant to remove “infidels” in Government and ensure that Muslim candidates from the North emerge in 2015 as part of the Sect’s plan to Islamize Nigeria.

Boko Haram had said part of its demands is for Nigeria to be ruled under the Sharia Law and for President Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian from the Minority south to convert to Islam.

The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, (retd.) recently confirmed that the international terror organization, Al Qaeda, has made inroads into Nigeria’s security system.

Although Dasuki did not give details of the inroads made by Al-Qaeda but sources said the NSA was merely confirming security reports that Boko Haram has been bolstered by financial supports it received from the international terrorist organization.

“What the NSA said was just a tip into the current situation. Boko Haram is now very rich. They just received about $500 Million from Al-Qaeda and that has greatly energized them,” the source told pointblanknews.com.

Fighters from Boko Haram had marched into Maiduguri city recently in pick-up trucks and on motorcycles, before opening fire with rockets and small arms on a military base, signaling the launch of its new tactics and weaponry.

Security sources told pointblanknews.com that Boko Haram had told Al-Qaeda that it needed $1 Billion to remove “infidels” ruling Nigeria and install Muslims who will help to Islamize Nigeria.

The Security sources said Boko Haram leaders told the leadership of Al-Qaeda that the Islamization of Nigeria, the most populous black nation is key in the quest to Islamize West Africa.

After considering the request, sources said Al-Qaeda released an initial $500 Million calculated to be N80 Billion at the exchange rate of N160 per dollar.

The International terror group plans to release additional funds upon review of Boko Haram success

Pointblanknews.com gathered that some politicians from the Northern extractions who are bent on having political power returned to the North aided the receipt of the funds to Boko Haram.

A source confirmed that some top Northern leaders are currently under scrutiny for helping Boko Haram receive the cash donation from Al-Qaeda. The Northern leaders under investigation are also accused of giving cover to members of the Sect.

“Al-Qaeda did not send the funds through Banks or any conventional method, they used some people and we are currently investigating and as soon as we are through, those found guilty will be prosecuted according to the law,” a source hinted.

A security source knowledgeable with the current trend of Boko Haram who preferred to be anonymous confirmed that the sect has only recently received the sums and has started purchase of weapons.

“They have the money now and they are getting weapons as we speak.”

According to the source, “we are also tracking down the source of the weapons they are buying and we are almost done with that.”

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the current weapons being purchased by Boko Haram are of more sophistication than those used by the Soldiers stationed in the North East region.

A source who want to remain anonymous said Boko Haram currently outnumbers the current Military strength on ground in the North East region of Nigeria.

“We have it on good authority that from the funding they recently
received, they have recruited more people and paying them well too.”

According to him, “they have a new plan now to destabilize the country ahead of the 2015 general elections because they had told Al-Qaeda that the country is currently being ruled by infidels and that they have what it takes to Islamize Nigeria.”

FLASHBACK:
“Many Hausa-Fulani told me that the North’s escalating poverty has resulted from its declining access to oil because of its loss of the presidency to Olusegun Obasanjo, a Southern Christian Yoruba, following the death of the Northern Muslim Kanuri, Sani Abacha. Their solution to Northern poverty was to recapture the federal government. This they did in the rigged elections of 2007 and the presidency of Umaru Yar’Adua. But, they lost it again when Yar’Adua died in May 2010 and the vice president, Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian Ijaw from Southern Nigeria, became president.” – John Campbell, Former US Ambassador to Nigeria.

Hmm!!! Abia State Set To Build A Seaport

Determined to remove Abia State  from its landlocked status  and enhance economic and commercial activities   the state government has concluded plans to build  its own  seaport.

The decision to build the seaport which  is to be located  at Obuaku in Ukwa West local  government is coming on the heels of government’s announcement that plans  are in top gear to  build an airport in the state.

Commissioner for information   and   strategy, Dr Eze Chikamnayo who disclosed this after the last state executive   council meeting in Umuahia  said the two projects would be executed  simultaneously.

The sea port which will be the first in the South East geopolitical zone would help importers  and exporter from  the   state carry out their business with more ease and  reduce the distance they have to travel to clear  their goods.

The  sea port he added would also create employment for the teeming unemployed youths in the state both skilled and unskilled.

Defending   the location of the seaport,   he said that  unlike Port Harcourt  Sea port which is about 10 miles from Port Harcourt City, the proposed Obuaku seaport is less than five miles to the Atlantic Ocean.

The commissioner said that already   a committee has been set up to see to the development of  the seaport which will  see Governor Theodore Orji emerging as the first governor in the South East to build a sea port.

On the air port project, he said that   an appropriate site had been  acquired cutting across Ikwuano and Umuahia south local government areas covering an  area of 24 square miles.

Fg Sponsors Crude Oil Theft – Tambuwal

FG sponsors crude oil theft – Tambuwal

GOWON EMAKPE, Abuja

Crude oil thieves are being sponsored by the Federal Government, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has said, insisting that the crime is not being perpetrated by ordinary criminals, but by those who enjoy the backing of government.

Tambuwal, said this at the inauguration of the House Ad-hoc Committee on Crude Oil Theft in Nigeria in Abuja, noting that the only way to fight the crime is for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest and prosecute suspected crude oil thieves in the country.

He said the House would ensure that law enforcement agencies were well equipped to carry out investigation of those engaged in the illicit business.

“This House must use its influence to ensure that the law enforcement agencies approach their investigation of the criminals engaged in oil field theft from a more sophisticated angle.

“We need to put in place the right kind of legislation to improve the monitoring of on-shore and off-shore areas in order to discourage vandalism.

“We need to establish a robust regulatory framework to plug all loopholes through which all sorts of official and unofficial corruption thrive in the oil sector,” he said.

He said that oil theft had reached a level that required the assistance of every Nigerian to check the dangerous trend.

“Oil theft in our country has now reached an industrial scale, we need the concerted efforts of all stakeholders who must be invited and heard at a scheduled 5-day public hearing.

“There is also no doubt that we must try, as much as possible, to pass the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), as soon as possible,” he said.

He urged members of the committee to scrutinise the report by the Royal Institute for International Affairs, which alleged that Nigeria’s oil was being stolen not just from pipelines, but also from tank farms and export terminals.

The Chairman of the committee, Bashir Adamu (PDP-Jigawa) said illegal bunkering costs Nigeria an estimated N780 billion annually.

Mr. Adamu said unless government summoned the courage to fight the menace, the situation would further worsen the country’s economic woes.

The legislator explained that the rising level of crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, particularly in the Niger Delta region, had assumed higher dimensions.

He said that the ugly development had made operations in the oil and gas Industry one of the most expensive in the world.

“Attacks on production facilities have led to several shut-downs and declaration of force majeure by the international oil companies (lOCs), ultimately resulting in loss of revenue to the government,” he said.

Adamu recalled that in April 2013, oil giant – Shell Petroleum Development Company – shut down the 150,000bpd Nembe Creek oil pipeline due to the urgent need to clear illegal connections.

He called for serious efforts to combat the menace, adding that the trend had become more complicated because of its international slant.

“Cooperation between the government and private sector is vital to achieving effective maritime security and prevent crude oil theft within the nation’s maritime domain”.

It would be recalled that the House, during its sitting, set up a 14-man committee to investigate people or institutions behind oil theft in the Niger Delta.

The House had earlier called on President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately overhaul the operations of the Joint Task Force (JTF), in the Niger Delta to ensure a more proactive security check of all oil installations in the country.

Adopting a motion introduced by Aliyu Sani Madaki (PDP-Kano) on the issue yesterday, the parliament, without debate, resolved to set up an ad-hoc committee to look into the propriety of contracting the protection of the country’s waterways and oil pipelines to private firms, among others.

It also mandated the committee to investigate the allegations made by the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Patrick Akpobolekemi, of the involvement of influential people in oil theft and the fact that the organisation had seized ships belonging to the oil thieves and report back to the House within two weeks.

The Federal Government had in the discharge of its constitutional responsibility, awarded pipeline surveillance contract to protect the country’s waterways so that crude oil theft could be curbed.

But the House said engaging a private firm to man the country’s waterways had worsen the level of the oil theft thereby making its presence unnecessary.

It noted the revelation by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who said the illegal oil theft (bunkering) could be as high as 400,000 barrels per day.

This, according to her, led to a 17 per cent fall in official sales of the crude oil in international market.

The House last October accused President Jonathan of doing too little to curb increasing oil theft, and said the government’s reluctance to deploy improved methods to end the theft was tantamount to “economic sabotage”.

A spokesperson for the House, Zakari Mohammed, said the government had no explanation for not addressing the theft with new technologies available, but choosing to offer excuses

NNPC Fraud: CBN Governor Sanusi To Proceed On Post-retirement Leave In March

CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi
By SaharaReporters, New York
SaharaReporters has learnt that Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, will be forced to leave his post in March, 2014, two months before the formal expiration of his tenure. Two sources at the Presidency and a source at the Central Bank told SaharaReporters that Mr. Sanusi has been ordered to proceed on a post-retirement leave in March. All three sources concluded that the early exit for the CBN henchman was occasioned by Mr. Sanusi’s recent leaked letter to President Goodluck Jonathan detailing the theft of close to $50 billion in oil proceeds by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Last week, Mr. Sanusi revised the figure of missing funds down to $12 billion, but the damage to the Jonathan Presidency is considered massive.
SaharaReporters learnt that Mr. Jonathan has concluded plans to speedily replace the CBN governor whom the president believes set out to embarrass his government. “[President] Jonathan thinks that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been making erratic pronouncements recently calculated to demean the office of the President,” said a source in the Presidency.
Presidency officials accused the CBN governor of leaking a private letter written to President Jonathan in which Nigeria’s chief banker complained about fraud perpetrated by officials of the NNPC and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke. Ms. Alison-Madueke is extremely close to the president and is believed to be the arrowhead of Mr. Jonathan’s corrupt schemes, especially in the oil sector.
One of the sources at the Presidency told SaharaReporters that, although Mr. Sanusi’s allegations were substantially accurate, the CBN governor was forced to back down from the more damaging aspects of his claims after the president’s associates threatened to make an issue of his reckless spending and philandering. “Once Sanusi found out that the Presidency was determined to deal with him, both through the media and by instigating the EFCC to look into his spending habits, he was willing to retreat and to accept an early departure,” said our source.
Shortly after the CBN governor was effectively blackmailed and brought under control, he appeared before the Nigerian Senate and reversed his position, claiming that the NNPC was only unable to reconcile $12 billion of crude oil sale earnings.
It was shortly after Mr. Sanusi’s Senate appearance that President Jonathan ordered that the CBN governor’s retirement should be fast-tracked. Mr. Sanusi, who is believed to nurse an ambition to become the next Emir of Kano, had publicly stated that he does not intend to stay for another term.
His term as Nigeria’s Central Bank governor is due to expire in May 2014.

video was posted by the sect online , showing Shekau, who was clad in a military fatigue, rained invectives on his enemies: “Here I am, alive, hale and hearty. Sagir Musa should bury himself in shame, President Jonathan (of Nigeria) should bury himself in shame, President Obama (of United States of America) should bury himself in shame, and President Francois Hollande (of France) should bury himself in shame, Queen Elizabeth (of England) should bury herself in shame.

“They said I am dead, but here I am. The world should know that I am alive and will only die at the appointed time. Everybody should be judged according to the dictates of his conscience.

“What I am doing is written in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith and I will not stop. I challenge all the clerics of the world to question my deeds. Those underrating my capacity should have a re-think. I will never allow democracy to thrive.

“The concept of government of the people by the people for the people will never be possible and will never exist. Democracy shall be replaced only by the government of Allah, from Allah and for Allah.”

He stated the Nigerian military will never subdue his group. “Nigerian soldiers are late. After killing many of them in Monguno and Benisheik, we have snatched their armoured carriers and Hilux vans and then hoisted Islamic flags on them. We now move freely with them,” he said.

meanwhile, the Army Public Relations Unit said it would study the video clips that claimed someone who had died several weeks ago is alive.
